I have heard some Snagit users complain about problems capturing scrolling webpages in Firefox lately . I have also experienced this problem. It was temporarily solved when I used Snagit version 10.01 and Firefox 7, but then I got the problem back when I upgraded to Firefox 8.

I use the scrolling capture functionality a lot so I contacted TechSmith to see how to solve this.

They presented me with a very elegant solution that actually ads functionality to the normal scrolling capture. I think you will find that this solution works for most Firefox releases in both Snagit version 9 and 10.

The solution is called “Custom Scrolling” and I made a short video explaining how to set it up and how to use it.

I hope you liked it. Add comments below if you have any questions or comments.

Until next time ;-)

I have to tell you something, but I don’t have much time…

Something strange has happened here. I started experimenting with Snagit and I discovered something. Something horrifying I cannot fully comprehend or even begin to explain. And I am afraid my time is running out.

I will try to get more information to you shortly, but I think they are watching me…

I am scared, very scared.

I warned you but look for yourself if you dare…

For years, creating presentations  for a business meeting has never been this enjoyable and efficient without SNAGIT.  It is a very useful screenshot tool which offers more than just taking a snap of a certain page. It helps you make your work easy without causing you too much time to do it. It is for me,  a replacement for the ancient print screen but with more features and innovative functions.

WHAT SNAGIT CAN DO:

powered by WordPress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

CAPTURE a screen from online or from a file that runs in your PC, a webpage, an article, or even a page with a scrolling window!

EDIT the saved screenshot by using SnagIt Editor that comes with it. It is used to annotate and improve the quality and presentation of the captured file by using different editing tools. You can crop, resize, blur, change the color or even add stamps on your image/file to give a more dramatic effect.

powered by WordPress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

ORGANIZE. Snagit automatically save your files in a library with search box, so you can easily find the file that you are looking for.

SHARE your masterpiece to your friends via email, flickr, skype or to your website.

Snagit  already has proven itself on its numerous versions  listed above, and it didn’t stop there. It  still have its hunger for improvement to make our lives easier.  After Snagit 9,  we now have Snagit 10 and  the Snagit on MAC!(See the latest versions here: http://www.softwarecasa.com/snagit-upgrade.html) Want  it? then go ahead and Snag- It! ☺

Soon Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States and last month it was celebrated in Canada.

I think this is one of the nicest North American traditions. Yes, it’s about eating Turkey, but not only that. Thanksgiving is also the tradition of giving thanks. To say “Thank you!” for all that you are grateful for to your close ones.

That’s why I like Thanksgiving.

To celebrate Thanksgiving I wanted to do something for our visitors and friends. So I created a graphics pack consisting of 8 Snagit stamps. You see all eight stamps on the image below.

powered by WordPress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

You can download this and use as you see fit. For fun, maybe to create your own Thanksgiving cards or where ever you like.

If you own Snagit you can edit and use them directly from in side the Snagit Editor, that’s what I do. But you can also paste them directly into your emails or other Office applications or emails.

powered by WordPress Multibox Plugin v1.3.5

Please comment below if you like them. And check out SuperStamps including 654 professional Stamps/Icons.

Happy Thanksgiving ;-)

snagit-profiles1I recently wrote an article about how you could increase your productivity by using the Quick Access Toolbar in Snagit Editor more effectively.

That tip showed how you could increase speed when editing your Snagit screen shots. In today’s tip I’m going to cover another great productivity enhancer that takes place before you capture your screen – the Snagit Profiles.

Snagit boasts over 40 ways to capture the screen and the possibilies of altering your outputs and adding effects ends up with virtually an infinite number of ways to take and save your captures.

The purpose of the Snagit Profiles is to create pre-made capture modes so you can handle your captures the exact same way over and over. Thus increasing your productivity.

minitoolbar1When working with the Text or Callout tools in Snagit a little menu pops up. This little Menu is called the Mini Toolbar.

In the Mini Toolbar you have a quick access to some of the most common tools, you can for example change font, colors, size of font, bold, shadow and have access to a lot of other helpful tools.

These are useful functions, the only problem is that the Mini Toolbar often places itself on top of what you are writing or if you want to grab a corner and drag something the Toolbar pops up and places itself on top of what you want to reach and you have to fiddle to get to what you want to do.

minitoolbar2

Well, there is an easy way to solve this problem and only see the Toolbar when you want to see it.

Go to the Snagit Button in the upper left corner of the Editor (1) and choose Editor Options (2).

minitoolbar3

And simply choose to unclick Mini Toolbar (3).

minitoolbar4

But, what if I need it sometimes you ask. Well, just right-click your mouse when working and the Mini Toolbar will appear on your command. Now you only see it when you need it.

Thanks goes out to Magus for this excellent tip.

Until next time ;-)
