Snagit has greatly improved over the years. With Snagit 9 we are finally able to manipulate several images on the same canvass, without it being locked into the canvass as soon as you start another image. One thing that Snagit desperately needs is the ability to rotate an image on the canvass. You can rotate the canvass, but not an individual image. As far as I can tell, the only way to rotate one image (out of several) is to copy it onto a new canvass, rotate that, and then copy the image back on to your original. For a program where the user is likely working with multiple images, this is definitely needed.

Hi Charlene,

Just choose OBJECT under Other Profiles.
Then on the Output, click on Shapes, there you'll see 5 different shapes of capturing.

Hope that answers your question.

Thank you Laurie for your review - most insightful. I particularly liked the bit about capturing Snagit. I've been writing little notes for students concerning the use of Snagit for their assignments and an ability to capture Snagit itself will be most helpful.

Like Charlene, I too would be interested in a way to capture objects that are a different shape e.g. oval. Is that possible with Snagit?

I felt like Laurie the first time I used Snagit which is a brilliant program. I had no problems learning how to use Snagit and once my current project is finished, I will be exploring other aspects of the program.

I am writing a manual (not my first) on photo manipulation and Snagit has made life so much easier.

Thank you for such a great program,

I would like to know if there is a way to capture an image with a different shape. For example I may want to capture a logo that is oval and do not want the background. Any suggestions?
