Although I have been using Mac and Windows for some time I am moving over to Mac as much as possible - especially for publications work. Snagit for Mac would enable me to leave Widows behind.

  2. Melissa McIntyre on November 11th, 2007 11:02 am

Yes, I would love a Mac version of SnagIt! Please let me know when it becomes available!

  3. C Bryne on November 11th, 2007 6:18 pm

I have been using Snagit practically since it first appeared, and am now making the switch to Mac and discovering that a few of my absolute favorite softwares are just not available. SnagIt is a great program - I use it all the time, and strongly applaud any move to make it available to Mac users.

Let’s put it this way, I run a Mc Book Pro next to a Dell XP machine. I am frequently sending files from the mac to the dell via bluetooth, applying some snagit goodness and then sending the result back to the mac via bluetooth. I would pay my own money to have snagit on my mac!

I have used windows for years and finally this year have realized and dove in head first to the world of Apple computers with a new iMac and Macbook, honestly the only thing I miss from my old computers is snagit. Please please please get us one quickly.

  6. L. Petersen on December 5th, 2007 1:12 pm

I just purchased an iMac after years of working on a pc (Windows). There are only one or two programs that I miss & find it hard to be without. One of those programs is Snagit. When I have time I plan on installing it on Win XP running under Parallels on my iMac. Meanwhile, I am lost. I have not found anything comparable on the Mac platform, especially for capturing rolling windows & regions. Please see the light & venture into the realm of Apple for those of us that are lost without Snagit.

For such a user friendly environment, the fact that an application similar to SnagIt doesn’t exist for the Mac is an enigma.

Build it and they shall come.

  8. Ronald Barnett on December 22nd, 2007 3:36 am

Like many others I’ve switched from PC to Mac with the exception Snagit. I now in important cases snag something in PC and then port it over to Mac - a hassle and only part of a solution. I encourge you to write Snagit for Mac.

  9. Scott Lampert on December 24th, 2007 7:21 am

I too fall into the same category as everyone else. I think that Mac’s are a far superior computer, one big thing they are missing is SnagIt and Camtasia. Build SnagIt and open yourselves up to a whole new growing market. The PC world is dropping in numbers and the Mac generation is on the rise!!!

  10. Sherry Folb on December 24th, 2007 4:44 pm

Yes, yes, yes, I, too, am a PC Snagit user and would love to have it for my MAC which I just purchased. I would hate to have to go back to my PC to capture some screens. The sooner the better.

  11. Chanel on December 28th, 2007 4:44 pm

Yes, I am dying for a Snagit for Mac… It’s the best software for publicists to grab stories on their clients and distribute companywide. I love it, and now have a Mac….I need it for MAC!!! Smiles.

  12. marion meeks on January 3rd, 2008 8:09 pm

All I wanted for Christmas was SnagIt for the Mac, but alas I was disappointed. Please don’t make me wait until next year!

  13. Stuart on January 11th, 2008 9:53 pm

Been using this wonderful software on my pc for ages, now I’ve switched to a mac and am at a loss. I hate having to switch to windows to do a capture and then back to OSX to work on it. Please develop a Mac version as a matter of extreme urgency.

  14. Lori on January 12th, 2008 12:01 am

I use Jing on my MAC, but I prefer SnagIt for being able to capture and save as a pic to use or share in various ways. Jing doesn’t allow that, so SnagIt for MAC would be awesome. I use it OFTEN at work on my PC and would really LOVE a MAC version - soon!

  15. Allison Tinney on January 14th, 2008 3:48 pm

Snagit is an elegant tool that I use on a daily basis for work in reports, presentations, etc. Getting Snagit for Mac is my last step to getting off of the Vista Virus.

  16. Bruce ROBINSON on January 20th, 2008 5:24 pm

Snagit is probably the only tool I’ve not found a replacement for since I’ve moved from Windows to Mac. Sort it out please chaps it’s a pain using some of the “pretenders” !!!!

Somebody will come up up with a decent substitute soon I’m sure. The present tools are about the level of Snag It of 2005.

  17. Amy Metzger on January 25th, 2008 1:20 pm

I’ve used SnagIt for PC for years at work and would love SnagIt for Mac for at home. Do it now, guys! Thanks.

  18. Scott Graham on January 25th, 2008 4:56 pm

OK, we wait snagit for mac! Please give it to us!!! How long must we wait?

  19. Debra Steffen on January 27th, 2008 9:45 am

I have used SnagIt on my PC for elearning web development. I am switching to a Mac to freelance web development. I have not found anything yet that has all the functionality of SnagIt, not to mention that I am very familiar with SnagIt.

  20. Marianne Voss on January 28th, 2008 8:44 am

I was a PC user for many years, and recently switched to Mac, a move I am incredibly happy about, but miss using Snag It. I would very much buy a license for Mac. Please!!

  21. Greg T. on January 29th, 2008 11:27 am

Count me in for the Mac version! Our CS reps use the product extensively in customer communications and in creating documentation. Just bought our first (of many) Mac for the office and cannot live without SnagIt.

  22. Bruce ROBINSON on January 29th, 2008 5:45 pm

OK Chaps I’ve now tried several Mac recommended screen grab and video tools and I’ve had enough of their inflexibility and lack of tools.

Snag it for Mac ASAP please.

  23. Anna Hoad on January 31st, 2008 6:22 am

I have been a Snagit user for a couple of years. Having switched to Mac, I haven’t found an equivalent tool which will let me capture the screen and then draw on it, highlight areas etc.
I would be joining the queue to buy a Mac version of Snagit when released.

  24. Doug Jenkins on January 31st, 2008 5:23 pm

Yes, please develop and release a version of Snagit for Mac! I’d buy it in a heartbeat. And, if I may request this, please be sure to include callout capability. Thanks.

  25. L. Pineda on February 13th, 2008 11:43 am

There is nothing on the Mac today comparable to what SnagIt on the PC does. I would buy it without hesitation if it is available on the Mac.

  26. P Limon on February 16th, 2008 7:31 am

As web agency, most of us work with Macs. Unfortunately, when it comes to producing great looking documents for our customers, we need to switch to Windows as Snagit is needed to achieve such result … Let us know when we can order a 10 licences SnagIt pack !

  27. Alec McLure on February 23rd, 2008 1:02 pm

I want to see a Snagit for a Mac because I use a PC at work (no choice) and use SnagIt all the time.

Today, I’m at home doing homework - putting the graphic I wanted into my paper involved two programs and a lot of tweaking - about 7 minutes. And I have quite a few more to do. With SnagIt it would have taken me less than 45 seconds.

Please!!! I’ll be one of your first buyers (though I think there will be a lot of competition for that position).

In fact, I’d be more than happy to be an end-user tester (sounds like a sneaky way to get early SnagIt, but I love doing that stuff and giving product feedback, having been on the other end as a product manager in the past - and yes, it would get me SnagIt a little sooner, however wobbly :-))

  28. Adam on February 25th, 2008 1:25 pm

I’m on day three of my switch from XP to OSX and am suffering from major SnagIt withdrawl. I’ve experimented with a couple alternatives but nothing is coming close to the ease and functionality that SnagIt offers. The minute it becomes available, I’m buying.

  29. Tom on March 22nd, 2008 3:07 pm

I really need a Mac app which would capture the images of Google Maps when they fly from one destination to another and then zoom in.

Seems like Snagit for the Mac might fill the bill.

Perhaps there is another Mac App which might fill the bill but I haven’t found it yet.

    Your thoughts?

    Tom

  30. reese on April 8th, 2008 1:22 pm

Please, will someone make a Snag it for my Mac!? I just switched to All Macs, and need an image capture tool. It would make someone boo koo moneys!

  31. craig Shults on April 12th, 2008 7:15 pm

  32. Ana IZAGUIRRE on April 15th, 2008 3:53 am

I have been using Snagit practically since it first appeared, I’ve just change my laptop for a Mac one and what it’s my surprise when I discover that a few of my absolute favorite softwares are just not available. SnagIt is a great program - I use it all the time, and strongly applaud any move to make it available to Mac users.

  33. steve shirilla on April 18th, 2008 10:20 am

YES YES YES, I need it now, you can throw all PC’s in the trash as far as I’m concerned.

  34. Ariel Rosado on April 18th, 2008 10:45 am

Please! i really want it !!!

  35. Wis Rinearson on April 18th, 2008 11:30 am

I am a SnagIt junkie with a Macbook/Leopard and I want my Mac SnagIt. In fact, I am willing to pay twice as much over the PC version for a Mac version of SnagIt.

  36. John Cooper on April 19th, 2008 12:33 am

Please - Snagit for Mac… Need it, Want it - now! We only run Macs, not a PC in sight, the best for the best.

  37. slv on April 22nd, 2008 1:53 pm

Would love snag it for mac. This is the only windows program that I love that is missing from my mac.

  38. Erik Johnson on April 22nd, 2008 6:45 pm

I’m getting tired of waiting for Techsmith to get it together on a Mac version of SnagIt — it’s been over three years. I’m going to pick up an alternative, perhaps Snapz Pro. Sorry, Techsmith, you lost another customer.

  39. Christoph on April 29th, 2008 3:02 pm

    SnagIt Team,
Just do it! Don’t listen to your sales reps and business people who wait for numbers and spreadsheets and market research.
SnagIt is the best and most easy to use tool out there. Have tried lots of other free tools but as usual the details matter and the work flow.

    just do it.

  40. Sandra on April 30th, 2008 10:11 am

YES!! I’m a Mac user and I would love to have SNAGIT in Mac. Please Techsmith, create this wonderful software for Mac lovers.

  41. Yaron Assa on May 1st, 2008 11:37 pm

Yap, SnagIt is pretty much the only program I couldn’t replace when switching from my PC.

  42. Thomas on May 8th, 2008 10:55 pm

Well I will be getting my mac in a few days and right now I am looking for alternatives to some of my PC programs, but nothing comes close to SnagIt… Oh I could only dream about how nice SnagIt could be on the Mac Platform….. TechSmith this is a no-brainer go make it - now!

  43. Bruce R on May 10th, 2008 4:40 pm

Chaps you are seem to dragging you feet on this Snag it for Mac. Do all these pleas for Help and Snag it for mac make you feel good.

Well how about making we MAc users feel good and pulling you finger out and deliver this Snag It for Mac.

It all looks a little like MS hot air and inflated ego.

I’m not going to beg and fawn anymore, there is a market for SI for Mac, now sort out your life and provide it.

  44. ghostrider@stian.com on May 12th, 2008 12:59 am

Count my vote as well! Not familiar with your product but I hate PCs. If you don’t port it for Mac, according to the above reviews, I will be forced to buy an inferior product. I am as stubborn as they come when it has to do with Mac vs. PeeCee.

  45. Clint Gilliland on May 13th, 2008 7:30 am

No comparison between Grab on the Mac and Snagit on the PC. Snagit is a much more elegant application with numerous “can’t do without” features. How ’bout we see a little Snagit for the Mac?

  46. Peter Salwen on May 18th, 2008 11:58 am

I’ll add my voice to the chorus & pray that SFM (Snagit for Mac?) will come along soon. A couple of specific points:

One, your image management utilities are the slickest I’ve ever handled, especially the skew and perspective adjustments. I needed a wraparound image of the NYC skyline as seen from a midtown high-rise. With Snagit all I had to do was snap a dozen overlapping photos, correct the distorted perspective, link them together and Presto! — a seamless panorama, and all in just a few user-friendly minutes. No Mac program I’ve tried has even come close.

Two, I’d bet SFM will make tons of money for you just from the word-of-mouth. I’d never heard of Snagit (i.e., your paid advertising never got to me) until maybe 2-3 years ago, when a user told me about it, and she was so enthusiastic I had no choice but to try it. And since I started using it I’ve probably passed the word on to at least 30-40 people myself, just as enthusiastically.

The message: get the product out there and you can probably just sit back and watch your sales snowball.

  47. Leonard Balk on May 19th, 2008 10:26 am

UH Yes please Snagit is one of the most useful programs, I use it on a daily bases. Having it available on the mac would be great.

  48. Bruce Robinson on May 28th, 2008 11:29 am

I have the cash and I’m willing to pay.

  49. Joe G on May 28th, 2008 12:16 pm

Ok… I’ll play the game one more time and write again. Yes, I want Snagit for Mac and so do countless others. Seems like you have been leading us on for awhile now. That must be your way of building up interest ….. or something? In the meantime, my Snagit sits idle on my turned off Dell PC which sits in a closet while I use my Mac Book Pro. So until that day when you let me know Snagit is available for Mac, I’ll be sadly saying goodbye. Please write soon!

  50. Lanna on June 2nd, 2008 2:43 pm

YES please DO make a Mac Snagit! It would make my job so much easier to not have to send files to the PC and send them back to my beloved Mac. :O)

  51. Anne G on June 2nd, 2008 9:44 pm

I would love to see Snagit on Mac because…I always thought all the cool tools were made for mac..but then I found Snagit…a PC only tool. I was so impressed with all the features and functions that a quick tool comparison convinced my management staff to buy copies for my entire work group. It has become a tool we cannot live without. But, now that I have a Mac for my creative work…Yikes, I can’t imagine how much more difficult things will be without it! Please don’t make me suffer any longer. Please, please, please, bring on a mac version…SOON!

  52. Cathy Jackman on June 3rd, 2008 8:08 am

I’d like to see both Snagit and Camtasia for the Mac. Then I’d never need a PC again.

  53. Jouri on June 23rd, 2008 2:42 pm

The “Jing Project” for Mac,is considered the so-called temporaty answer for Mac users….With it’s limted functionality it is basically useless to those of us whom rely on Snagit. I would rather endure the pain of logging into Windows on my Mac, in order to use the real thing.

  54. Paul Poelstra on June 27th, 2008 11:59 am

I love snagit… I am just swithing to MAC today… and am devestatit to find out I cant’t use snagit…
    please solve this asap

  55. Jim Kring on June 29th, 2008 9:04 pm

We’re switching to Mac and have no SnagIt substitute. Help! :)

  56. cdavenport4 on June 30th, 2008 8:32 am

This is something my office is using and I would love a version for the Mac. It’s a great product.

  57. Keith Ford on July 2nd, 2008 11:23 pm

I need this to transfer maps and data from pc to mac. As a Mac user in a PC world we need programs to trade information.
