Open Snagit, chose Help/About Snagit. Your license key should be listed there under the Snagit logo.

I hope that helps.

Snag-on ;-)

Peter,

I realize you don't need to do it, but sometimes it's necessary to have those images available elsewhere. And I think that's what Dan was looking for.

Hi Sara,

That's true. But you don't need to do that. Your image will still be saved even if you don't do anything.

Cheers,
Peter

Dan,

If you have your image up in the editor, then go to File>Save As - it will allow you to specify another location to save the file.

Hi Dan,

I didn't miss your point. The fact is that the image is actually saved to the editor. This is the end of the line if you so wish. The editor will store all the images for you. You can also tag them, find them via dates of flags if you so desire.

No need to do anything. It's already saved ;-)

I hope this helps.

Let me know what other functionality you find confusing and we'll see what we can do.

All the best,
Peter

Hi Peter,
My philosophy is simple: If I have to go to HELP to learn the basic functioning of a program then that program is not for me. I am conversant with capture software. You missed my most important issue with Snagit. You say the image is "saved" to the editor. Nothing is saved to an editor. Images and documents are saved FROM an Editor. An editor isn't the end of the journey. A file is.

Your Send block in the editor has four options: e-mail, ftp, program, clipboard. Nowhere do I see "save" (which means save to file) and I certainly don't want to move my edited image to clipboard. I want to SAVE it.

I have used Snagit for 3 days now, consulting Help frequently, and I still can't perform the basic function of capture software: Snag-Edit (or not)-Save to file.

Hi Dan,

The beauty of well developed software is that it is easy for the beginner but then has more functionality you can use when you grow as a user.

Snagit is very true in this aspect. All you need to know about is the print screen button. Just click it and drag the area around what you want to capture. The image automatically is saved to the editor where you can edit it - or not if you prefer.

It can't get any easier than that.

Cheers,
Peter

This is so simple a requirement I feel Snagit is way to complex for me. I simply want to put the captured snag into the Editor, modify it then save it from there. Is this too much to ask of this program?
